Oven Shiners Carpet & Oven Cleaning Terms and Conditions

The customer shall be deemed to be the person whose details are completed on the online quote / contact form transmitted from this website.

OVEN CLEANING

● Since we do not clean the elements and thermostats, we do not accept any responsibility if they are not functioning after cleaning.

● Control knobs and markings on the front panel may come off while cleaning. Therefore, it is the customer's responsibility to let us know whether we should carry out cleaning of the panel or not.

● We do not clean oven door rubber seals. These are very fragile. We will try our best to remove any grease, but this cannot be guaranteed.

● We want to inform the customer that the following ovens are very hard to clean - Smeg, Leisure, Flavel, Lamona & Beko. We will clean them to the best of our abilities. In some instances, we may charge extra due to the difficulty of cleaning these specific brands.

DIY CLEANING

If the customer has attempted to do DIY cleaning and has failed, we ask that you wash any strong chemicals away before we start cleaning. If you do not do this, we may refuse to clean the oven or charge extra. If we refuse to clean the oven due to a very strong smell of chemicals, Oven Shiners Ltd has the right to make a claim from the customer. This will be the full value of the clean or our minimum call out charge (£60).

CARPET CLEANING

If there are steps to the property, we may need the customer’s help to lift our machine. It is not a heavy machine, but we may find it difficult to carry the machine on our own. We operate with only one person to reduce the cost and offer a better price to our customers.
If the property is a flat or an apartment which is not on the ground floor, and without a lift, we will need the customer's help to take the machine to the flat or apartment.
Carpet & sofa cleaning is done with a professional steam cleaning machine. This machine sucks out all soil and dirt on carpets & sofas. Drying times is approximately two to three hours. If the carpet and/or sofa is very old, we may not be able to bring it back into a good condition due to normal wear and tear. Odour removal, spot stain removal and flea removal treatments are to be informed by the customer at the time of placing the order.

EXCESS CHARGES

For single and double ovens, we spend a maximum of 3 hours at the property. For a 90cm oven it will be a maximum of 4 hours, and for range cookers a maximum of 5 hours. Any time spent more than the above hours will incur a charge of £35 per hour. Most of the time we finish our work before the average time stated.

UNATTENDED CUSTOMERS

The customer should be available at the property before, during, and after the job. There may be some things which we cannot clean 100% due to various reasons. The customer needs to check all cleaning before we leave the property. We do not accept any complaints after we have left the property.

PARKING

Our oven cleaning service requires us to work indoors and in the van. The back doors of the van are kept open while the cooking process is completed. We will need a safe, level parking place. 1-2 hours restricted parking areas are not suitable. We do not pay for parking. Free parking from 3 hours to 5 hours is essential. If parking facilities for our van cannot be provided, we are not able to offer our service.

• If the off-street parking is "pay and display" the customer needs to pay for parking.

• If the pay and display off street parking is limited to 2 hours, please discuss with our order desk. We may be able to start earlier or later to avoid the restrictions.

We use a van mounted dip tank to clean parts of the oven. We will need a reasonably level surface for this to work.

WEEKEND PREMIUM

We will carry out jobs at the weekend. There will be a slight premium for this service. This will be agreed at the time of booking

SEMI DEEP CLEANING (ECONOMICAL CLEANING)

Semi deep cleaning is the most economical version of oven cleaning. Under this service, we clean only the bottom of the oven, oven door glass facing into the oven and the shelves. This service is only available within a 2-mile radius of the office of the franchisee.

BBQ CLEANING

Unlike ovens, BBQs are not 100% cleanable. To turn them into near showroom condition is extremely difficult. However, we will do our best to restore all BBQs.

CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING

Cancellations and rescheduling are free of charge if we are given 48 hours’ notice. Anything under 48 hours will incur a fee of either the full value of the quote, or our minimum call out charge (£60).
Oven Shiners Ltd will endeavour to provide our service at the time and date you have requested. We will inform you by telephone or email if we are unable to attend on the date/time we have agreed. We will endeavour to re-arrange the booking at a mutually convenient time/date. In such cases we offer compensation in the form of a discount.
All cancellations should be in writing by either text or email.

No cancellations will be accepted in November or December, and all bookings must be paid for in full if cancelled.

WAITING TIME

If the technician arrives at your property, at the agreed time/date of your booking, and is unable to gain access we will wait for a maximum of 15 minutes for you to arrive. We will attempt to contact you on the telephone numbers provided. If we are unable to gain access to the property, we reserve the right to charge 100% of the agreed cost.

PAYMENTS

All customers must make their payment by bank transfer, cash, or cheque soon after completion of the job. Bank transfers must be done, and confirmation must be shown to the technician just before he/she leaves the property.

COMPLAINTS

If the customer has any complaints, please make sure we are notified immediately after completion of the job.

EMAILS AND TEXTS
Due to the nature of our work our hands are normally very busy. We do reply to emails and texts enquiries, but we cannot hold full conversations this way. Please call us for bookings as we cannot respond to texts and emails as quickly.

GOOSE FAT

If goose fat has been used in the oven, please let us know when placing the cleaning order. The removal of goose fat will take extra time, and therefore we charge an extra £10 for this service.


RIDGED OVENS

In some ovens, instead of pulling out the runners for the shelves, there are built in ridges. Cleaning these ridges is very hard, and time consuming. We charge £10 extra to clean ridged ovens.

GENERAL TERMS

Oven Shiners use any information submitted by you to provide you with further information about the products / services offered or to assist you in answering any questions or queries you may have submitted. This includes using your details to send you information about our services and any special offers available. Alternatively, where the consumer has previously used Oven Shiners service, we may text or email you in the future - if you do not want to receive communication, please let us know. This is by no means an entire list of your user rights regarding receiving marketing material. Your details are not passed on to any third parties.

Oven Shiners retains all intellectual property rights to the material that appears on this web site, including graphical images and text. Material on the web site can only be printed or downloaded for personal use. You may not create a website in any form, from text or images on the site, without prior written permission from Oven Shiners. No part of the site may be reproduced, transmitted, or stored in an electronic or non-electronic format without the prior written permission of Oven Shiners.

Whilst we make every effort to ensure the information on this site is kept accurate and up to date, we do not warrant that general information and / or information regarding products and services is either complete or accurate.
